Travel Tracer Part Two: Chapter 1-5
The action for this reading begins in page 149-157 when Delaney is
buying a new car and on his way to meet Kyra at a restaurant, for a
lunch date. While, Delaney is buying the car he begins to feel violated,
because everybody seems to act as if the dilemma was a weather issue.
This generates a huge jump towards Delaney's hatred towards illegals.
When Delaney meets his wife, they discuss the new car's luxuries; when
they are to depart and go their own ways Kyra notices a barking inside
one of the cars, a green jeep with the window
barely cracked open, a danger to the dog's health in the summer heat.
She furiously tries to open to door however, she is unsuccessful and
confronts the people in the restaurant to release the dog. Kyra was in
such heat that she demanded to know why the owner had let the dog inside
the car with the intense heat. The owner responded, "Why don't you just
fuck off, lady"(157).
